O objetivo deste estudo foi observar o efeito da cultura escolar no desenvolvimento moral das crianças. A população do estudo foi composta por todas as escolas secundárias e secundárias superiores públicas e privadas do distrito de Lahore. A amostra foi composta por 30 escolas selecionadas aleatoriamente da população e os dados foram recolhidos de 30 alunos e 10 professores de cada escola, também selecionados aleatoriamente. A pesquisa foi um estudo causal comparativo ex post facto por método. O tipo de cultura escolar foi determinado através da Escala de Cultura Escolar, de Khanam (2013). A escala identificou quatro tipos de cultura: autocrática, laissez-faire, democrática e colegial. O desenvolvimento moral dos alunos das escolas respeitadas foi identificado através do MDII (Inventário de Entrevistas de Desenvolvimento Moral) de Khanam (2010). Os resultados mostraram que o desenvolvimento moral nas culturas autocrática e colegial era suficientemente elevado para atingir o quarto estágio, no qual os alunos protegem as leis e regras sem reivindicar a sua base teórica e são responsáveis pela ética e pelos valores da escola. Por outro lado, nas culturas democrática e laissez-faire, eles alcançaram estágios comparativamente mais baixos.
