In a world gripped by so much darkness, division and conflict, many of us fear that humanity will never be able to break the endless cycle - in which trauma weakens the human spirit and people pass on their trauma wounds and scars to the generations that follow. We Exist in Each Other: Healing and Transforming in a Divisive World sends a different and hopeful message. In her book, Edith Alig Gagné articulates a belief that humans have the ability to break the trauma cycle, to rise above our 'fabricated human story' and to connect with the creative, loving force of the universe. We Exist in Each Other is part memoir and part spiritual testimony. It is the story of how Edith navigated difficult moments in her life while expanding her connection to what she calls her True Self. As a child, Edith experienced a crisis in her family - witnessing her father go through a devastating health emergency. As shocking as the scene was, it was a pivotal moment that opened the door to her spiritual growth. Edith shares how she was affected by family and individual trauma, how she moved through and past its effects, and how she came to live her true purpose. As she narrates her story, she offers readers guidance on meditations and spiritual practices that they might also access to deepen their connection with Source. Throughout her life’s journey, Edith was guided by her True Self to take step after step - to take conscious healing action in the world and to be of service, first as an informal caregiver to her father, then on to palliative care, and as a facilitator of meditation for incarcerated women. This pursuit of her purpose culminated with her joining a global community dedicated to healing individual and collective trauma to help create a better world. 'I have learned that being open and having the courage to allow absolute, infinite intelligence to come through us takes our lives to a level where we can heal together. Accepting and embracing this divine guidance is available to each one of us and helps us discover our unique purpose in the world.'Edith Alig Gagné is the daughter of European immigrants to Canada and has lived most of her life in northwestern Ontario. Both her parents’ experience of war overseas and her childhood immersed in wild nature have been profound influences on her journey. Edith is devoted to a life of service in settings that include palliative care and correctional facilities. She has facilitated mind-fulness and meditation sessions for incarcerated women; for patients, clients and caregivers in health-care settings; and for palliative care summits, non-profit organizations and the general public. Edith holds an Honours BA degree in Psychology and Gerontology from Lakehead University. Additionally, she is a Chopra Center-certified instructor in 'Perfect Health: Ayurvedic Lifestyle' and 'Primordial Sound Meditation,' with training based on the teachings of Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon. She has taken programs like 'An Advanced Program to Intensify Presence and Live Your Highest Purpose,' from Eckhart Tolle’s School of Awakening. Edith is committed to connecting with like-hearted people to evolve to higher states of consciousness collectively and seeks to help integrate, heal and transform personal and collective trauma on a global scale. To further enhance her ability to be of service to others, she has completed an intensive, global program based in Germany and the U.S: Timeless Wisdom Training (TWT) with Thomas Hübl through the Academy of Inner Science.
