The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum is a classic children’s novel about Dorothy, a young girl from Kansas who is swept away by a cyclone to the magical land of Oz. To return home, she must seek help from the Wizard in the Emerald City. Along the way, she befriends the Scarecrow, who wants a brain; the Tin Woodman, who longs for a heart; and the Cowardly Lion, who desires courage. Together, they face many challenges, including the Wicked Witch of the West. In the end, they discover that the Wizard is an ordinary man, but each finds that they already possess the qualities they sought. With the help of Glinda the Good Witch, Dorothy learns she can return home by clicking her silver shoes together, realizing that 'there’s no place like home.'
