Have you ever wanted to ask God, 'Why don’t you do something about the violence and broken justice in the world?' Habakkuk is unique among the prophets in that he began by asking God hard questions-and God answered him. Things were about to change in a big way as God addressed rampant sin in the culture, and everyone would be affected by God’s action. Even so, one of the Bible’s deepest expressions of faith in the good work of God is found in this little book. Knowing God’s unchanging character is the key. Habakkuk pulled no punches in saying that sometimes things get worse before they get better, but also that God will always sustain and be near to those who earnestly seek Him, His message is one for our time.
