This book is an in-depth analysis of the structural roots of cyclical violence in the Democratic Republic of Congo and proposes an innovative approach. It offers a unique contribution combining research, field experience and commitment to peace. It takes a clear-sighted and well-informed look at the problem, particularly in eastern Congo. Through rigorous analysis and concrete proposals, the author advocates for inclusive dialogue and revisits the scope of various diplomatic agreements as levers for lasting peace, provided that the populations take ownership of them. This empirical research demonstrates that ’when electoral cycles are truly respected, they become the foundation for lasting peace.’ This is the true long-term solution. The recognition and effective implementation of democracy, coupled with sound management that respects public affairs, guarantees lasting stability in the DRC. Every citizen should participate in building the future without resorting to violence, let alone unproductive dialogue. This work is a call to action, to both individual and collective responsibility.
