El trabajo expone nueve temas de investigación arqueológica sobre la provincia de Santiago de Cuba : el primer estudio integral de los conchales de sus costas; descubrimiento y análisis preliminar de las manifestaciones culturales proto arcaicas detectadas in situ, su distribución territorial, cronología, economía, tecnología y posibles rutas migratorias; un resumen del poblamiento de las comunidades preagroalfareras y proto agrícolas, incluyendo a Caimanes III, el más antiguo complejo ceramista de Cuba, reportado hasta el momento; el hallazgo de presuntas piezas andinas en la zona costera y sus supuestas vías de entrada al territorio, así como los colgantes metálicos recuperados en yacimientos de cultura agro alfarera de Santiago de Cuba, entre otros aspectos de interés, esfuerzo que constituye un modesto aporte al conocimiento y comprensión, del poblamiento aborigen de la región suroriental de Cuba. 10
