Es dauerte immerhin bis zur Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts, bis der allzu lang umstrittene italienische Maler Caravaggio (1571-1610) endlich wiederentdeckt wurde. Mit seiner Erfindung der Hell-Dunkel-Malerei prägte er die Geschichte der Kunst mit seiner blutigen Marke.Félix Witting (Professor der Kunstgeschichte) und M.L.
