La meditación de Mariana Bernárdez rompe con el encadenamiento temporal del discurso y su lógica de sucesión lineal y deductiva, que, en virtud del «burocrático» principio de identidad, obliga a que haya un lugar y un tiempo para cada cosa y a que cada cosa aparezca en su lugar y a su debido tiempo. Escribe la autora: «[...] el discurrir habrá de fracasar en su ignorancia»; «[...] la aceptación de su invalidez [del discurso] obligará al lenguaje del ser a predicar sobre lo que no es».Es evidente que las innovaciones léxicas y sintácticas que presenta in actu la metapoética de Memorial del fulgor exigen un nuevo tipo de lector, no ya receptivo y espectador, sino activo e inventor, lo suficientemente curioso y atrevido como para ir a buscar en el subsuelo oculto y en los intervalos del texto los enigmas y los muchos encadenamientos posibles, más o menos sugeridos, que enlazan los diversos horizontes.¿Alcanza su objetivo máximo, a saber, decir in recto el hontanar de la palabra poética y del mundo por ella engendrado, o, al menos, se aproxima a esa meta, la titánica tarea de deconstrucción-reconstrucción poético-lingüística con la que está comprometida la meditación metapoética de Mariana Bernárdez?
