Este estudo de investigação teve por objetivo criar um mapa de suscetibilidade às inundações (FSM) e identificar as zonas mais vulneráveis às inundações, utilizando um método de integração do sistema de informação geográfica GIS, da tomada de decisão multicritério ('MCDM') e do processo de hierarquia analítica ('AHP').O estudo de caso foi efectuado numa das províncias afegãs, a 'Província de Kandahar'.Este estudo utilizou dados espaciais de todos os factores relevantes que afectam a vulnerabilidade às inundações.O leitor deste estudo poderá aplicar o método a todas as regiões para identificar as zonas propensas a inundações que são mais vulneráveis às mesmas.
