Depuis le 7 octobre 2023, suite à l’attaque menée par le Hamas contre Israël, le Moyen-Orient connaît une nouvelle phase de recomposition et de déstabilisation, comme cette région en a connu après la guerre des Six Jours en 1967 ou le 11 septembre 2001. Dans cet espace mouvementé, trois pays apparaissent comme de véritables puissances régionales par leur taille, leur population, leur potentiel économique, stratégique ou encore leur influence régionale, notamment sur le plan religieux : la Turquie, l’Arabie saoudite et l’Iran. Alors que les deux premiers tentent de profiter de l’affaiblissement de  l’axe de la résistance  proche de l’Iran, ce dernier plie pour ne pas rompre en attendant des jours meilleurs d’autant plus que la République islamique a prouvé sa résilience depuis 1979 face à de multiples épreuves. Les rivalités n’excluent cependant pas des rapprochements comme celui observé entre Ryad et Téhéran.
