Heartwork has been a tremendous blessing to many people who are working through traumatic grief. Licensed clinical therapist and trauma speciailist Mary Beth Woll and teacher Linda Smith have developed a method of combining the use of a Timeline with Inner Healing Prayer to bring God’s healing from trauma to the body, soul, and spirit. Through Heartwork, they gently encourage Participants to invite Jesus into their terror and trembling. In exchange, He brings them into His safety and security.Through the use of the Timeline, in the safe and nurturing environment of a Heartwork session, the Participant is able to access traumatic memories which they have previously exiled to their subconscious brain. As the Participant shares their trauma and hears it repeated by the Leader, the brain lets go of its emotional intensity, releasing the Participant from the fight or flight response, and persuading them that the trauma is now in the past. As a result, the brain is able to receive comfort for distressing emotions tied to trauma. Heartwork provides healing for the soul by combining a timeline with Inner Healing Prayer. As people invite Jesus into the Timeline of events surrounding their loved one’s death, they begin to understand that Jesus was present all along. They gain a new understanding of God’s love and His ways in their lives. Although they may never understand all the answers to the 'whys,' they can experience the 'Who,' as Jesus saturates them with a tremendous sense of His presence.

Those books are necessary, but in the raw, emotional weeks and months after losi...
