In den letzten Jahren haben Fragen des Umweltschutzes große Bedeutung erlangt, und eine der größten Herausforderungen ist die Wiederverwertung von Materialien, die in den verschiedenen Produktionssektoren anfallen. Angesichts der Umweltschäden, die durch die technologische Entwicklung und die Entsorgung von Abfällen verursacht werden, haben wir versucht, die Möglichkeit zu bewerten, ausschließlich Industrieabfälle als alternative Rohstoffe für die Herstellung von Keramikfliesen zu verwenden. Es wurden verschiedene als nicht gefährlich eingestufte Industrieabfälle ausgewählt: Schlamm aus dem Gneisbruch, Schlamm aus dem Schneiden und Polieren von Varvit, Schlamm aus der Trinkwasseraufbereitung und ein ebenfalls als Abfall eingestufter Ton. Die Anwendbarkeit dieser Abfälle bei der Herstellung von rustikaler Keramik für Verkleidungen wurde anhand des Phasendiagramms des SiO2-K2O-Al2O3-Systems bestimmt.
