Este livro apresenta um estudo abrangente sobre a síntese ecológica e biogênica e as aplicações multifuncionais de nanomateriais à base de metais, enfatizando abordagens ambientalmente benignas para a fabricação de nanopartículas e nanocompósitos. Usando extrato de folhas de Ziziphus jujuba como agente redutor e estabilizador natural, nanopartículas de prata (AgNPs) e nanopartículas de ouro (AuNPs) foram sintetizadas rapidamente à temperatura ambiente e caracterizadas minuciosamente usando FT-IR, XRD, UV-Vis, TEM e outras técnicas avançadas. O estudo destaca a eficiência dos fitoquímicos vegetais na orientação da formação de nanopartículas e confirma as suas características cristalinas, comportamento de ressonância plasmónica de superfície, morfologias em nanoescala e funcionalidades catalíticas. As AgNPs exibiram excelente atividade catalítica na redução de 4-nitrofenol e azul de metileno, juntamente com pronunciada eficácia antibacteriana contra E. coli, demonstrando forte potencial ambiental e biomédico.
