Un grupo de jóvenes decide investigar sobre el sentido del martirio y su significado en nuestro mundo, tan indiferente al hecho de dar la vida por amor. Para ello, forman un Club de mártires. Pero, en el ambiente del instituto donde estudian, va a surgir un grupo opositor, el Club de los vampiros, que intentará atacar a la joven Agnes, haciendo que participe, con su propia sangre, del ideal del martirio, que ha contemplado en sus sueños. En los diálogos que mantienen, a lo largo del curso, los compañeros de Agnes, así como en las diversas actividades escolares, surgen diversos temas de interés, como el sentido de la vida, la heroicidad, las relaciones sexuales, la grandeza de la amistad, el Islam y el yihadismo, etc. Intenta dar, así, una respuesta sensata y positiva a los diversos puntos de vista, que inquietan a los jóvenes de hoy. Esta historia pretende ser un canto alegre y juvenil a la entrega de la vida, por amor, dentro de una perspectiva de relatos históricos
