A finales de febrero de 1744, frente a la Costa Azul francesa, al sur de la ciudad de Tolón, tuvo lugar un combate naval en el que participaron en mayor o menor medida tres armadas de peso de la época: las de los reinos de Francia y España, por un lado, y la del reino de la Gran Bretaña, por el otro.El enfrentamiento que sostuvieron la escuadra española y la británica fue particularmente violento. Las averiguaciones que han de emprender para seguir la pista de ese hombre nos llevarán a revivir las peripecias de la escuadra de Cádiz en el Mediterráneo.Compartiremos la cubierta con algunos marinos y soldados españoles que dieron una lección de bizarría y pundonor a sus mayores rivales en el mar.Veremos que, en la guerra, la superioridad numérica del adversario no siempre es un factor determinante; y que el amor, tanto el fraternal como el romántico, puede impulsar a personas normales a protagonizar hechos extraordinarios.
