A Organização Mundial da Saúde (2016) define a adolescência como o período de crescimento e desenvolvimento humano que ocorre após a infância e antes da idade adulta, entre 10 e 19 anos, e constitui uma fase de risco considerável, entre os quais se destaca o sexo desprotegido, acrescentando a isso, sabe-se que o contexto social tem uma influência determinante. O objetivo do estudo foi determinar o nível de conhecimento dos métodos contraceptivos entre os adolescentes do Telebachillerato El Nigromante, Veracruz. Através de um desenho quantitativo, descritivo, prospetivo e transversal, em 53 estudantes de 15 a 21 anos, aplicando a Pesquisa de Nível de Conhecimento de Métodos Contraceptivos (Aranda et al., 2017). Os resultados mostram que 77,3% concordam que além de ajudar a evitar a gravidez, previnem a transmissão de infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, 83,0% afirmam que o preservativo é o único que protege contra elas e 76,5% têm alto e médio conhecimento (24,5%) dos métodos contraceptivos, sendo as características sociodemográficas o principal modulador.
