El libro de la profesora Olga Lucía Zuluaga Colombia: dos modelos de su práctica pedagógica durante el siglo XIX (1979) problematiza la reducción de la pedagogía a un simple método para enseñar;en segundo lugar busca el reconocimiento del maestro como productor de saber pedagógico;y el tercero,no menos importante,cuestiona las relaciones ciencias/saber/pedagogía que empleaban (y que se sigue empleando) lasciencias delaseducación como sustento epistemológico para llevar a cabo la formación de los maestros. Mediante el uso y la apropiación de las herramientas de Michel Foucault la profesora Olga realiza una historia arqueológica de la pedagogía en Colombia desde los inicios de la vida republicana (entonces Gran Colombia) hasta Reforma Instruccionista de 1870 (en aquel tiempo Estados Unidos de Colombia). Dicha historia planteó por primera vez el debate académico,no sólo nacional sino internacional,sobre la existencia de la Pedagogía como discurso y como práctica a través de la noción conceptual y metodológica de práctica pedagógica. 10
