No solo se limita a describir el paisaje, sino que también se ocupa de las sociedades que lo habitan y de su relación con el medio. En este sentido, el libro Areografía, a través de poesía de ciencia ficción y poesía marciana, desentraña el paisaje y clima mental de Marte, que, para su autor, es un refugio.El Planeta Rojo atraviesa el poemario como una brisa. Acumula nostalgia, ofrece sus relieves de refugio, encarna a una madre, exalta sentidos y representa la posibilidad de empezar de nuevo.Areografía se compone de tres etapas: la primera comienza con un final que evoca lo que se deja atrás: la tragedia donde se confunde lo humano con lo marciano; la segunda parte encarna la melancolía de Marte y la contemplación calmada de los recuerdos; por último, en el tercer capítulo, el poeta pretende reconciliarse con la realidad, balanceándose entre el olvido y la esperanza. 10
