Questo libro ha analizzato la continuità del programma di francese relativo ai testi della scuola elementare (4° ciclo) e della scuola media (sezione Lingue). Da un’indagine condotta è emerso che il programma relativo ai testi in francese della scuola elementare e media non presenta continuità: i testi ECOFO sono testi inventati basati su esperienze quotidiane non letterarie, mentre quelli della sezione Lingue della scuola media sono letterari. Dai risultati del nostro studio è emerso che gli studenti e gli insegnanti delle scuole visitate hanno affermato che gli studenti hanno difficoltà a comprendere il francese (i testi) e a leggere fin dalla scuola elementare, difficoltà che si aggravano nella scuola secondaria quando affrontano i testi letterari proposti. La letteratura costituisce un elemento fortemente propedeutico che deve essere insegnato fin dalla scuola elementare, in particolare la fiaba, per svilupparla nella scuola secondaria. Sarebbe quindi ideale rivedere il programma per inserirvi i concetti di letteratura e insegnarli agli studenti in giovane età, in modo da poter beneficiare delle conoscenze linguistiche e culturali che aiuterebbero gli studenti a padroneggiare il francese.
