Mark Maxey’s Stories at The People’s World Garnered Thousands of Hits Freelance journalist Mark Maxey’s stories were consistently among the most read on The People’s World website from late 2017 to June 2018. Many of his stories garnered thousands of hits per day, with some even reaching six figures. Maxey credits his success to a combination of factors, including his strong writing skills, his ability to find compelling stories, and the support of the PW editing team. 'I’m grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a talented group of editors,' Maxey said. 'They helped me to hone my craft and to produce stories that I’m proud of.' Maxey is a lifelong activist with a passion for social justice. He is a member of the National Writers Union, UAW Local 1981/AFL-CIO, and he has worked as an administrative assistant, petroleum landman, barista, staff writer, paralegal, content producer, and graphic designer. He spent six months as a National Data Team volunteer for the Bernie Sanders for President campaign. Maxey is currently working on a book about the history of the Yuchi people.
